Measles have exploded across the United States an it appears is if there is no urgency in health authorities to address this problem.
AS of March 2026, the number of reported cases was 1487. Health authorities report more that South Carolina had 980 measles cases with Utah next with 443 cases. This is quite alarming. This is the largest surge of measles in recent years.
Epidemiologists attribute the increase to declining vaccination coverage in several communities. Regional health alerts have also been issued across parts of the Americas.
Measles can cause serious complications, including pneumonia and encephalitis, particularly among young children and immunocompromised individuals.
